Stranon is a small software business based in London, United Kingdom. Email: hello@stranon.com.
The short version
- Our apps run on your computer and don’t collect anything about you or your files.
- This website doesn’t use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics.
- When you buy, Paddle handles your payment. We receive only what we need to send you a licence and help you.
- We never sell your data.
Who is responsible
Stranon is responsible for your personal data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR). Contact: hello@stranon.com.
Our apps
Our apps work entirely offline. Your files are read and changed only on your own computer, and nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else. The licence key is checked on your computer; the app does not contact a server to do it. The apps contain no analytics, tracking or advertising.
This website
- We don’t set cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated attacks.
- Cloudflare receives technical information that every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the site. It is kept briefly and not used to identify you.
When you buy
Paddle is the Merchant of Record and processes your payment as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.
Paddle shares with us your name, email address, country, and the details of your order. We use them to:
- send you your licence key and receipt-related messages,
- help you if you lose your key or need support,
- handle refunds,
- keep the records the law requires.
Legal basis: carrying out our contract with you, and our legal obligations. We keep order records for 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
When you email us
We use your message and email address to reply. We keep the conversation while it’s useful for helping you, and delete it within 2 years. Our email is hosted by IONOS.
Who else is involved
- Paddle — payments, taxes, invoices and refunds.
- Cloudflare — hosting this website.
- IONOS — email.
Some of them may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as approved contract clauses.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, by writing to hello@stranon.com. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
